11 Keys to Great Success in Life and Business: Key #1 Add Value

There are many common keys to success in building a great business and building a great life. Over the next several weeks I will focus on the 11 keys to accomplishing both.

Key #1: Add Value
In business this is a simple concept. Your customers don’t just want products. They want value. No one ever ordered a pen, business card or any of the other millions of products out there for the sake of having the product. They wanted those products to provide value. Find the real value they are seeking from using the products you sell and you will maximize your success. The same is true in your personal life. If you take time to truly understand your friends and meet their needs, you will have great friends for life.

Seems simple enough, right? However, it seems many folks rarely learn how to really understand the value that their customers and friends need.

If you really want to add value to your customers and friends here’s a simple rule. No one ever discovered the value their customers and friends were seeking by talking. That’s right. It’s only through careful LISTENING that you can learn the real value your customers and friends are seeking.

A wise friend once told me that God gave us two ears and one mouth because we should listen twice as much as we talk.

Until next time when we talk about your passion… let me encourage you to spend time practicing LISTENING to your customers and friends and find out how you can add some real value to your relationships.
