Interviewing for a new job can be nerve-wracking. You want to put your best foot forward, but you may be anxious and worrying about what questions will be asked, how you will respond and in the end, whether or not you’ll be offered the position.

While you can’t control the questions you’ll be asked, and you can’t predict exactly how you will answer (practicing your responses will only get you so far), you can make sure you are dressed to impress. Keep in mind that before you even start talking, your interview attire can make a great – or not-so-great – impression.

The infographic below, created by the Career Services Team at Rasmussen College, outlines helpful tips to keep in mind when you are preparing for your next big opportunity. You want to make sure you aren’t over-the-top, but you also want to look presentable and polished. Being over-dressed can be just as damaging as being under-dressed. Rasmussen’s inforgraphic illustrates that if you keep it simple and classy, your outerwear will be a big hit with everyone in your (hopefully) future office.
