No, it’s not your imagination… they are blatantly ignoring your advertising. I’m going to give you insight about how a significant segment of your prospects are actually hiding from you, and how you can fix this fast!
I found out this shocking (and perhaps, quite unsettling) news a few weeks ago at an industry trade show in Toronto.
It was held at the Capitol Banquet Center, actually just west of Toronto, and some of the Canadian Proforma Owners invited customers to exclusive access to the trade show floor.
This gave our guests – a variety of Marketing Managers, Office Managers, Human Resource Managers and other promotional product buyers — a rare chance to see the latest and greatest promo products straight from the vendors. They were able to see new ideas for their businesses and compare different options to determine what products would work best for them.
They also heard a fascinating presentation on the facts about marketing and promotional products:
- -15-20% of adults between 17 and 35 go out of their way to dodge traditional advertising (BAM – that’s the one that hit me like a ton of bricks!)
- -More than half of consumers have a favorable impression of the advertiser on a promotional products (They got something for free!)
- -20% of consumers make a purchase after receiving a promotional product
- -83% of consumers could recall an advertiser from a promotional product
This was the first End User event that Proforma has held in conjunction with an industry trade show and for those of us that got to make the trip, it was a great opportunity to hear directly from customers about their interests and concerns when it comes to effective marketing and promotional products.
